Art Walk: Sourcing Coffee Directly from the Producers

We're partnering with Old Soul to sharing the journey of the beans from Farm-to-Cup by displaying photos of Old Soul's visit to origin countries including our farms and mill in Nicaragua.

The theme for Old Soul’s own “Third Saturday” art walk for October will be coffee producers and the beauty of their product and hearts. We will feature photos from Old Soul’s Direct Sourcing trips to Central America this year, held in conjunction with a “Meet The Farmer” Q & A- spotlighting Finca Los Congos producer Rina Paguaga. All proceeds from any art work sold will be donated to Reading Partners.

A Film About Coffee

"A Film About Coffee" is coming to Sacramento, brought to you by Insight Coffee Roasters. The film spotlights coffee's international origins by taking viewers to faraway villages in Honduras and Rwanda, introducing farmers there and showing them at work managing and harvesting the crop.  The film then follows the coffee's distribution in cities like Tokyo, Portland and Seattle.

Cafe Vidita will be serving this year's Finca Los Congos Pacamara highlighting the Natural process which provides two products (1) a tea made from the Cascara, the husk of the fruit and (2) the coffee made from the seeds of the fruit. You will taste the full experience starting from the outside into the fruit.

Join us! The tasting will begin at 6pm and the screening at 7pm at the Crest Theatre on K street.
